The nasal cannula is a device used to deliver supplemental oxygen or increased airflow to a patient or person in need of respiratory help. Depending on the patient’s breathing rate and pattern, the nasal cannulas will help deliver oxygen in a variable manner. The design allows for patients to talk, eat, drink, and take medications without interrupting oxygen therapy. The cannula and tubing can be used with wall-supplied oxygen and then easily transferred to a portable oxygen tank or condenser.
